It's queer how impactful one's first impression is on other people. And equally odd how it can swing from one extreme to the other after the mere exchange of a few words. I don't know about you, but I sure felt weird after encountering a similar incident.

Let's call the person X. If on that fateful day X hadn't plopped onto the seat next to me on the bus and don't know why started talking to me, I would still have thought he was this damn zhua person and would having continued dao-ing him everytime I walk by. Now I feel kind of guilty that I used to think that way, since I realised that actually he is quite a nice person and not the least bit arrogant. And I have been dao-ing him since he was in CO.

No, I'm not interested in him, by the way.

But this goes to show how lousy surface appearance is a gauge of how a person really is. Sounds cliche, but don't you (somewhat unconsciously) judge a person you've just met in a period of only 3 seconds or so? And what else can you base your judgement on in this short time span? Don't come and give the "oh I don't know him very well therefore I have nothing to say about him" crap. Surely some statement must have formed at the back of your mind. I mean, would you rather go up to a dao faced person or a pleasant looking person and say hi first? Why? For all you know the DF person might be even friendlier than the PL one. But the ultimate reason why most of us would choose PLP is cos he looks friendlier and hence looks like he won't bite. They are basically assumptions. I have this friend who looks like THE daoster of the century but he's really a nice and funny guy inside. So there.

Despite 'analysing' this boliao stuff, I've yet to shed that thinking and not condemn fellow beings just because I don't like the look of them. Still it's good to source out the root of the problem and kind of give myself a million reasons why I shouldn't be an asshole by calling others assholes.
